Overview
The VIBRI Community Advisory Board (CAB) is an independent body linking our research team with local communities during clinical trials, ensuring community perspectives and ethics guide every stage of implementation. Composed of voluntary members including community and religious leaders, youth and women’s representatives, patient advocates, health workers, and affected populations, the CAB voices concerns, advises on culturally appropriate approaches, reviews protocols and consent forms, and addresses recruitment and ethical issues to promote transparency, trust, retention, and reduce misinformation.
An effective CAB improves community trust, increases retention, reduces protocol deviations, and strengthens ethical compliance. At VIBRI, the CAB is an indispensable partner in our mission to conduct ethically sound, community-centered research.
